Garage Sale Season is Now Officially Open
We had a bit of snow this morning, thankfully not the 5-10 cm the weather forecasters were calling for, and it had pretty much melted by noon.
I went down the Crescent to my first garage sale of the season.
While I was checking out the goods for sale I saw an Art Deco-esque bedroom suite 'hidden' in one of the downstairs bedrooms.
I left thinking that if was still there if I came back later, I would buy the headboard and footboard.
When I went back with the Geek it was still there, and I bought all five pieces.
The Geek has kindly offered to glue down any loose pieces of the veneer and give it a dose of 'weed and feed' (wood finish feeder).
I'll post some pictures of the finished product then, as well as the new cushion for the dressing table bench.

Just a Quiet Sunday
This morning I decided I would have to pick the peas and beans in the garden, even if it was wet. We may not have a dry day for awhile.
I also picked some tomatoes and some late raspberries, but those didn't make it into the house.
I went to an Urban Farmers' Market at the Riverview Community Club. There weren't many vegetables, but if I had wanted jewellery, a baby sling or some chain mail, I would have been in the right place.
I didn't buy anything there, but I did find this pitcher at an estate sale. I couldn't decide if it was unbelievably ugly, or incredibly cute, but it made me smile, and that was good enough.
I'm going to keep it in my sewing room where it can hold all my little sewing gadgets.
And I think I may have gotten rid of the fruit flies! Just don't be surprised at what I have hidden in the microwave.

All Tied up in Knots
We All Have Our Vices
We went riding around to garage sales today.

One of the three vices the Geek bought for her workshop came home clamped to the rack of my bicycle. We went to six garage sales and found a vice at three of them.
The Geek hauled the rest of the loot home in the trailer.
The trick to riding your bike to garage sales is to park your bike close enough that no one helps themselves to your stuff, but far enough away that they aren't considered a part of the offerings.
Fort Garry is apparently a hub of political activism.
