One Of Each

It doesn't take much to make me happy. In this case, one boy flower and one girl flower on the zucchini plant!

  1. Yeah, it may seem good now, but soon they'll be teasing each other and calling each other names.

After that comes the whole, "Why does Floyd look different than I do?", so you've got to sit down and have The Talk.

Then there's all the time you're going to be spending comforting a heart-broken Florence when Floyd starts dumps her for the Peonies, then dealing with all the excitement when they start dating again.

Eventually, they're going to find out that they're perfect for each other and you're going to have to drag Floyd out behind the garage and threaten that you're going to give him a good kick in the stamen and introduce him to 2-4-D if he makes Florence sad.

Then, on the eve of the wedding, a little girl is walking down the street, sees Floyd and Florence, and decides they'd look great in a science project so she takes them and... Oh, it's terrible - I can hardly type this... PRESSES THEM IN A ~GASP~ BOOK, LIKE A CUTE LITTLE PIG-TAILED BARBARIAN!

    OH, THE HORROR!

So, while you may think that you're lucky to have a boy and girl flower on the same zucchini plant, you may find yourself surprised...

Oh, and if you have peonies around, you may want to keep them away from the zucchini.

  2. I'll ignore the theatrics as long as I get a bouncing baby zucchini out of the deal.
