Mixed Emotions

With the installation of the corner pieces, the kitchen cupboard doors, a project started in 2011, are completed.

I am delighted. Tthe Geek doesn't like them.

Kitchen Countertops

The new countertops were installed on Friday.
The Geek filled both sinks with water and let them sit for awhile hoping they would seat themseves. It worked, except for one corner, so she stood on the counter and pressed with her foot to complete the seating.

This is not the best of pictures-here it looks more grey than the blue it really is.

They seem to make the kitchen seem bigger. Or at least until we fill them with our usual clutter.

We're Camping Again

The kitchen sink is gone and while we still have running water in the bathroom, I have really become used to a kitchen sink.
What happened? Here are some of the possibilities tho' the imaginative among you can surely think of better ones.
-it broke.
-it was stolen by aliens.
-it's gone on vacation.
Any other guesses?

Test Fitting the Doors

The Geek has been busy making doors for the cupboards. Very good of her, considering she doesn't think the cupboards need doors.
This is how it looks so far.

The Prototype; Optimism Abounds

The last time we went to the farm, the Geek brought back some of the dried planks.
The planks are destined to become cupboard doors.
And here is an idea of how they will look.
